As one year ends and another begins it’s the time to sum up, to plan and also to say thank you.
I’d like to take the opportunity firstly to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported and contributed to the blog in particular Leeswammes, Peileppe, Tech Queer and all those who have completed one of the call centre interviews.
2012 has been an interesting year for the blog. Though I have posted less the interest in the blog has grown and has led to some exciting developments which I hope to share at some point in 2013 (it’s not a book deal).
The whole reason for beginning Secret Diary was to tell my story, the story of daily working-life in a call centre. It was part anger, part frustration and part a belief that things could and should be better for all concerned. It was also part therapy, a way of dealing with the pressures and stresses I was under and which almost any call centre worker will be familiar with.
Though it is now around a year since I made my escape I still feel there are stories to tell, and not just mine, but other peoples, which is why I started the call centre interviews, so that other voices could be heard. I still have a few more interviews yet to post which I will be doing shortly and I also have some other posts which are at various stages of the writing process which I hope will be of interest as well as some more cartoons so there will hopefully be some interesting new content coming up.
All in all it should be an exciting 2013 for this blog, for which I have you all to thank.
Wishing you all a happy new year.
